Look Magazine Weekly #30th November

November 27, 2015

Hello my lovelies, I hope you all are having a great week. I am back with a LOOK Weekly, YAYYY! and I am excited to share what things I loved in this week's issue. Before we go into the fashion finds, alot of the hype has been around black Friday. So if you are looking to find a bargain or you want to treat yourself  then be sure to head over to your favourite websites or stores of many high street shops. I have seen some great offers and products that will tickle your fancy. Also this is good for early Christmas present ideas because you could buy a bundle of stuff rather than just buying the one gift.

On to all things LOOK......

We all know that December is around the corner, and the shops start stocking early for Christmas cause the craze is real. So you know when you mix fashion and Christmas together, you know everyone goes looking for their Christmas jumper. I love seeing the creations high street shops come up with, when they design the Christmas jumpers. From 3D embellishments to lights, sequins, glitter, fur, there's something for everyone. I thinking whether to buy a Christmas jumper this year because I have not found one I currently like, but there is lots of time to decide that!

As the party season is on the way, one thing I always like around this time of year is the glitter nail polishes. It makes me happy to add some glitter to my outfit even if it is on the nails! There are so many different colours, textures and styles of glitter polishes. I normally stay to the simple glitters like silver and gold but this year I might experiment a bit!

That is all from this week. I hope you enjoyed the fashion inspired post, if you did then please give it a like!
Also leave a comment on your thoughts about particular fashion trends this season?

Chanel November #4 Favourite Chanel Collection of all time

November 24, 2015

Hello my lovelies, I hope you all are having a great start to the week. Who am I kidding I bet alot of people can relate on just about getting out of their cosy beds in the morning! *sigh* Winter why are you so cold!

I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has read my blog posts and have enjoyed this series. I know I have not been that active on posts, as well as videos have been missing but I am going to try my best to get back to the normal schedule. And make sure you look out for the next designer of the month now that Chanel November has to come to an end.

On to all things Chanel.......

As this is the last post of Chanel November I wanted to end with my favourite collections of Chanel.
Let's kick this off with the "2.55" Chanel handbag, the reason it is named 2.55 is due to the fact that the bag was released in February 1955. I just love the quilted look which is what made it so famous. The other distinct feature is the gold and leather intertwined chain which has been a great idea that has been incorporated in many bags, but never as good as Chanel. Plus you can never go wrong with the twist lock fastening, its so easy and convenient.

Who would of thought that an iconic bag would still be going strong after 60 years. I definitely know that the 2.55 Chanel bag is on my wishlist, its not only about the iconic woman behind the brand. It's about the quality and creativity that has allowed the bag to be appreciated for this many years and years to come. The vision of the woman who took fashion to the levels we thought were impossible.

That was my favourite Chanel bag. The other piece that I adore is the classic Chanel tweed suit from 1965, there is something about the suit that makes you think of a fashion business women. It was very classic and reflected Chanel as a person. The little attention to detail make it extra special, I think people always forget the appreciation of when you pick a piece of clothing and wear it. When I look back at these collections I can see the designers vision at it's best, I felt the passion they felt when designing, creating and wearing the final product!

The 90s Tag

November 20, 2015

Hello my lovelies, I hope you all are good. I know everyone is wondering where is Look weekly, I have decided to do a different post because it's my birthday tomorrow. So I thought why not do a tag related to my era!

On to all things 90s.....

1. What is your favourite Disney Channel Original movie?

I have two, I loved the halloweentown films as I was growing up. I remember Disney Channel airing films at 8pm and I would come home eat food and make sure my homework was done just so I could watch them. The other film is Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, I loved that film especially when we were just coming into the technology era. Wow how time has changed.

2. Favourite Music Artist?

Spice Girls without a doubt and Britney was good in those years!

3. Favourite Nick Jr. Show?

I think blue clues. That is the only one I can remember if I am honest.

4. Favourite game (board game, school game)

Growing up I played a lot of board games with my brothers and I would say my favourite is monopoly. I played it so many times and I loved how the rules were questioned when we felt that the game was not going in our favour.

5. Favourite McDonald Toys?

The year when you could collect the small furbies. I remember collecting like 4 of them, they were so cute. However when I got one for Christmas, the furbie spoke when it was turned off, the scariest thing in the middle of the night.

6. Favourite Candy?

I have a sweet tooth and I feel that it's so hard to pick a favourite. I always loved the pick and mixes and sherbets. They bring back so many childhood memories. Most of the time you don't remember the names you just remember how good they taste.

7. Favourite TV Show?

My favourite shows growing up from the top of my head are : Sabrina the teenage witch, Kenan and Kel, Rugrats, Drake and Josh, Lizzie Mcquire, That's so raven, Recess, Powerpuff girls, Dexter's Laboratory, Goosebumps etc. There are more.

8. What was your favourite video game system and game for it?

This is so hard, I played on the PS1 and 2, and I had a Game boy Advance SP and Nintendo DS lite. I would say my favourite console was PS2 and the game would be Street fighter or Tekken.

9. Favourite Collectibles?

Pokemon cards and stickers. I was obsessed that my mum brought me a pikachu bag.

10. Favourite Book?

I was a huge Jacqueline Wilson fan like many girls growing up in this era, I would say the cliffhanger and double act were the ones I enjoyed the most.

So that was my 90s tag, I hope you enjoyed this post if you did then please leave a like!

Chanel November #3 Book Reviews on Coco Chanel

November 17, 2015

Welcome back to Chanel November my lovelies. I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and the tiredness has not carried on to the beginning of the week. Let's just take a moment for not only Paris but all around the world where attacks had happened to pray that those souls to rest in peace. #PrayersForThePeopleWeLost

As we are reaching the end of the Chanel series, I thought to tell you what research materials I used.

On to all things Chanel.....

So these are the two books I used to help me gather the information I needed to write these posts.
You can click on the headings which will direct you to the Amazon website, which is where I purchased them from.

The Vogue book was very useful, it had all the essential information you needed to know about Coco. There was many photos and thorough details about all the things Chanel did in order to build a great multinational empire. It gives you a great insight and ground knowledge on how it started to how the LBD came about to Chanel No. 5. It also had many quotes which I used in my previous post where you can check out down below. The book was published in 2012 so it does not have any information about Karl Lagerfield. Overall a great book to start off with to get to know the designer.

This book released last month and I just love Megan Hess; who is an fashion illustrator. I purchased one of her books in spring which was The Dress, and it's such a great book. Her fashion illustrations are inspiring and she definitely awoken my inner artist to create illustrations. This book has about 4 to 5 lines max per page but the illustrations are greatly depicted. It has all the highlights of her career and includes Karl Lagerfield contribution to Chanel.

Thank you reading my post, if enjoyed this post then please give it a like!

Look Magazine Weekly #16th November

November 13, 2015

Hello lovelies I hope you are well and are looking forward to the weekend. It's finally the long awaiting Friday where we can all relax from a somewhat stressful week.

Now I am going to explain something about this post series, for those who have been following it for a long time, you know I normally post it on a Thursday. However for the past week I have posted it on a Friday. The reason being that on a Thursday I have a full day at university and do not get back until 5:30 in the evening, then I am doing university work until 11:00pm. So you can see my dilemma, for the remainder of this year you may see this Look Weekly post to be posted on a Friday sometimes, I will try my best to stick to Thursday but on an occasion it may be posted on a Friday instead.

Now that's done,
On to all things LOOK...

We all love a bomber jacket but we probably have not been daring enough to proceed with the basket checkout button. When I think of bomber jackets, it kind of reminds me of the 80s/90s and like in the American films the varsity style jackets are very big when going through high school years. I just love the style it gives and I know they are super comfy.  Why not take your bomber jacket further with some personalisation, it's like putting your twist on it.

Velvet is a fabric you should be loving if our not loving it already. Velvet is great for the colder seasons because, the thickness of the fabric will give you all the warmth you need. It's great for evening/ night outfits and lucky for you, high street shops have been experimenting with the different types of clothing. So go out and hit the the shops and find your velvet piece, I know I will be. I have seen some great pieces in H&M so that's where I will be starting.

I hope you enjoyed this week's post, if did then leave a like.

Leave a comment telling me what's your favourite, bomber jackets or velvet styled clothing?

Chanel November #2 What I Admire About Coco Chanel?

November 10, 2015

Hello my lovelies and Welcome back to the second post of Chanel November. I hope you like what you are reading so far from the designer of the month series. Now lets get started on what I admire about Chanel. Also if you missed the first post I will leave a link below, I give you a insight into Coco's life.

On to all things Chanel......

Admiration? for Chanel? So many questions yet so few answers. As I am learning and growing my thirst for knowledge, I feel we can learn alot from other people experiences and achievements. I admire how Chanel built an empire out of nothing because she had belief in herself when no one else did.

She is an inspiring women because she did all those things women could only dream of doing, especially in the part of history she was born into. She wanted to prove something to the world and be one of the influential women fashion designers that lived and she was successful.

I always feel that as humans we has the tendency to limit ourselves, but she took fashion to lengths I didn't think was possible. She showed that fashion has no limit and there are several elements to it. These elements are perfume, jewellery, beauty products, handbags, and before you know it Chanel is a multinational brand everyone has known and heard of.

To think that little girl in the orphanage who was taught basic sewing skills by the nuns would go onto be the greatest influential fashion designer that has lived. I don't think Coco even knew what her future would hold, but it was her passion in what she loved that took her to those heights.

Here are some quotes I love, which are words spoken from the woman herself:

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only ... [it] has to do with ideas, the way we live." We often take inspiration on what is around us, fashion is everywhere you just need to open your mind.

"In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different" - My absolute favourite quote. Uniqueness can never be duplicated, Originality is what sets you apart from everyone else.

"To achieve great things, we must first dream"  It's always a good to start dreaming of a life you would like to live. Most of our great ideas come from what we dream to have or do!

"How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but someone" Remember to always be yourself and greater yourself as a person. Through time you grow.

"I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny."  The women in pearls has a point!

Thank you for reading this post. I hope you enjoyed my twist on how my admiration for Chanel can be used to think about in a different perspective. If you did then please leave a like.

Leave a comment on what quote you can relate to?

Look Magazine Weekly #9th November

November 06, 2015

(In Adele's Voice) Hello from the other side, You must've viewed a thousand times, To ask me where is my new post.

I just thought to do a different type of intro which is truly Adele inspired because the beautiful Adele is on the front of this week's issue. I know you are thinking ,why is she posting this today and where were you yesterday! The reason being, I was not feeling too good yesterday, so I could not write or publish the post. But I'm here now so let's get started.

On to all things LOOK......

I have been doing some browsing or should I say window shopping this week and I have noticed that suede has shifted there attention to trousers. I'm like whaaaaaa? I mean it's amazing I have been loving the look of the suede skirts and trousers are going to be great since the material is well suited to the season. Who would have thought the day would come where we can wear skinny suede trousers! Amazing!

As the weather is starting to get more horrible and grey, everyone turns to there coats but would you consider a hi-shine trench. When you first hear the name you are like is there a coat of such out there, but worry not my friends there is! Topshop and Dior have come up with there creations and take on this style. If want a coat that will let the rain runaway then a hi-shine tench is what you need in your life.

Onto what brands have caught my eye this week, these brands are Boohoo and United Colors of Benetton.
Starting with Boohoo, I have been browsing at there dresses and cardigans this week and I must say they have some great stuff. But what I loved was the fringe styled skirt, it looks so fun!
Moving onto United Colors of Benetton, they are new brand to me because I have not heard of them before. What particularly got my attention was the houndstooth skirt and shoes, I love houndstooth. I think the berry top and houndstooth is a great combination for this season!

Thank you for reading my post. I hope you enjoyed it, if you did then leave a like!
Also I would love to hear your thoughts,
So why not tell me what you loved most about this week's post?

Chanel November #1 Who is Coco Chanel?

November 03, 2015

Hello my lovelies I am back with a new series,
This series is Designer of the month. Designer of the month will consist of me, picking one designer every month and talking about what I love about their collections, achievements, what inspiration I take from them and the history of there career. This series will have 4 posts a month, every Tuesday and what better way to start it off then the woman Coco Chanel herself!

Welcome to Chanel November

On to all things Chanel......

Now everyone who is a lover of fashion or not, has heard of the brand, whether it is her clothing, her perfume, makeup, we know who she is.

We have heard of the brand but do we know the story behind the brand, well this is what I am here for to give you an insight into what I have learned about the woman behind the black dress!

Born in 1883 her name was Gabrielle Chanel, the word Coco was the name her dad gave her.  At a young age she was given away to an orphanage. Upon the age of twenty this is where Chanel became recognised, people know her now for her empire. However Chanel first turned to millinery which is the craft of making hats. Who would of thought that Chanel started off making hats, it's these little ideas that create big things.

One thing I have always been intrigued about was the logo of Chanel, and what was the significance about it. I found out that it was two C's, which stood for Chanel herself and Capel who was her secret lover.

Lets talk about Chanel No 5, this is the most iconic perfume. Everyone's knows it, many people have worn it but few know the woman behind the bottle. No 5 came about being the 5th sample of the batch, it also happened to be her lucky number. What a lucky number it was! The first release of the perfume was on the 5th of May 1921, as she wanted to commemorate her favourite number!

The woman who revolutionised the black dress and made pearls look beautiful, she was a woman of many talents. A woman called Coco Chanel.....

I hope enjoyed this post, If you did then leave a like!
I know I have gave you a snippet of her life but there is plenty more coming.

Why not leave a comment telling me your favourite Chanel moment.
